Alan Wayne Roberts was an amazing man. He lived a life rooted in love, curiosity, and connection. Devoted to his family, he found the greatest joy in time spent together—sharing stories, laughter, and everyday moments that became lasting memories. This could always be seen in his trademark humor when speaking to anyone. Alan always had a sense of adventure. From camping to flying, he enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed the time spent exploring new and familiar places alike. This also transferred to his love of the outdoors. He loved the beauty and simplicity in the fresh air and open spaces. From fishing and hunting to golfing, he could enjoy any activity outside. If you added friends and family to this mix, it was the best times of his life.
Alan believed deeply in family and community. He was kind and compassionate to all those around him. He believed in staying connected to the community and giving back anyway he could. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support where he could. Through his actions and example, he helped strengthen connections, uplifted those around him, and left a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
Jesus says in Mathew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” Alan set the perfect example for us on how to treat others. We, as his family, hope to continue this tradition through is memory of helping others in our community with Papa’s Angels.
Love,

Ellis Barton was a kind and hardworking man with a true heart of gold. He was a devoted father and grandfather who found his greatest joy in loving and supporting his children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to Ellis, and his steady presence, generosity, and compassion left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. A lifelong sports fan and proud Los Angeles Dodgers supporter, Ellis loved baseball. Having played as a young boy, he carried that passion into adulthood by encouraging and helping his own grandsons and youth whenever he could. He also had a deep love for old cars, spending countless hours restoring and fixing them. In February 2019, Ellis was diagnosed with lung cancer. He faced his short battle with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination, never wanting to give up. He passed away on July 21, 2019, but his spirit, values, and love continue to live on through those he touched. Papa’s Angels was created in honor of Ellis Barton and Alan Roberts, two remarkable men taken too soon. This nonprofit reflects Ellis’s generous heart and lifelong desire to help others, especially the younger generation. Through Papa’s Angels, his legacy of kindness, perseverance, and generosity continues to make a meaningful difference.
